Terms and Confidentiality Conditions

At Renew Therapy, we are committed to providing a transparent and safe environment for our clients. These terms and conditions outline our professional agreement and the standards of care you can expect during your therapeutic journey with us in the UK.

Confidentiality and its Limits

Everything you share in therapy is treated as confidential and is not discussed outside our sessions. There are, however, some important legal and ethical limits to confidentiality. I may need to share information if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, if there is a safeguarding concern involving a child or vulnerable adult, or if I am required to do so by a court of law. Wherever possible, I will speak with you about any concerns and explain what I may need to share, and with whom, before taking action.”

Appointments and Cancellation Policy

Payment is due as agreed at the time of booking. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice; cancellations with less notice will incur the full session fee.

Data Protection (GDPR) and Records

Clients’ personal information is stored electronically using fingerprint-protected access. In line with BACP guidance, adult records are kept for 7 years from the end of therapy. Records for children and young people are kept until their 18th birthday, then for an additional 7 years.

Professional Standards and Ethics

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. If you ever have concerns about any aspect of our work together, I encourage you to raise this with me in the first instance so we can discuss and resolve it where possible. If you feel your concern has not been resolved, you have the right to follow the BACP complaints procedure, details of which can be found on the BACP website.

Please note that in line with professional ethical guidelines, if I am providing you with counselling or therapy, I cannot also offer you my personal support services. This is to protect clear boundaries, avoid any conflict of interest, and ensure that our therapeutic relationship remains safe, professional and focused on your wellbeing.
